Mission Bay - San Francisco
141 units of modular supportive housing for formerly homeless begins construction in Mission Bay. We are thrilled to be a part of the team for this project with LMS Architects, CHP and Bridge Housing.
One block from the waterfront TS studio's design transforms a private courtyard into an urban park for residence. Cor-ten bridges link micro-spaces, community garden, a healing garden, lounge area, and dog trail. A large exterior terrace links to the interior community space with supportive services on the ground level with modular levels above. Adjacent the pedestrian alley, a public community garden connects formerly homeless with their neighbors. Located on land-fill and once part of the mission bay creek ecology, design invokes the feeling of walking along the historic waterfront as cor-ten bridges float over native bay ecology in bio-retention gardens that cleanse and remove urban contaminants.
