WALSH INTERVENTION

Walsh Plaza converts an existing parking lot and loading dock into a new public entry and drought tolerant garden for a 55,000 sf single story freestanding R&D building in Santa Clara, California. A gentle and dynamic sloped entry flanked by drought tolerant plants moves the visitor from the drop off to the renovated modern architectural entry. An existing sunken loading dock is transformed into an elevated decomposed granite garden, providing a south facing social environment for outdoor gathering, brainstorming and happy hour. Proposed landscape reflect and reframes new building entry, transforming a parking lot and loading dock while respecting existing architectural and site context.
