WEBSTER GREEN

TS studio assisted the Jack London District Association to provide research and design for proposed Webster Green in Oakland. The core strength of the Webster Green lies in its ability to have a unique identity that provides a sense of community for residents while also establishing a key connection between Chinatown, Jack London District and the San Francisco Bay. Resilient landscape design is guided through a balance of community and economic principals. Community programs include an urban farm, dog park and community bandshell. Phasing of the Webster Green will be a complicated process due to financing, ownership, and a quickly evolving industrial context. Each phase of the project is recognized as a self-sustaining intervention and does not rely on the success of future phases.
