OSGOOD AFFORDABLE HOUSING
At the foot of the Cameron Hills, bordered by the railroad and flood channel to the east and Osgood Road on the west, Osgood Family Housing is a 6-story affordable housing development with 235 units in Fremont California. Near to the proposed BART station, the streetscape is activated with a pedestrian-friendly design guideline of Transit-orientated development. The lush landscape on the ground level connects the street and leads up to the internal courtyard on the podium through the ceremonial stairway.
At the heart of the project, extending out from the community rooms from both Phases, a series of planters with retention and vegetated landforms not only provide the desired privacy of the adjacent units but also create shaded native gardens for kids' play, gathering, and respite for the residents.
